📝 NOTE

  • I mostly use 3-gallon grow bags
  • All materials are organic
  • Biochar, LECA, Tropical Mix, and Bonsai Mix are from OptimizeOrganics
  • At the end of each annual’s cycle, I cover-crop with organic barley and mix it back into the soil as green manure.

🪴 Current Soil Setup

Herb Mix

  • 50% Tropical Mix
  • 33% Coco Coir
  • 7% Reused PRO-MIX Veg & Herb mix
  • 5% Biochar (2–12 mm)
  • 5% Coco Cubes

Thyme / Oregano Mix

  • 50% Bonsai Mix
  • 25% Coco Coir
  • 10% Biochar (2–12 mm)
  • 10% Reused PRO-MIX Veg & Herb mix
  • 5% Whole LECA (10–20 mm)

Rosemary Mix

  • 60% Bonsai Mix
  • 40% Tropical Mix

Bay Mix

  • 40% Bonsai Mix
  • 60% Tropical Mix

Salad Bowl Mix

  • 20% Bonsai Mix
  • 80% Tropical Mix

💧 Watering

Twice a week, 1 L per 3-gallon grow bag.

🍼 Feeding

BioFish Liquid Organic 3-1-2 (10-15 mL per L)

Last year I used Gaia All Purpose 4-4-4, but I didn't love the powder form (my balcony is super windy), so I'm trying a liquid feed this year. I also mostly grow leafy greens, so I want to stick with a 3-1-2 ratio.
